familysurance
This is one of my University projects. I created this business (in theory) from start to finish.
Most people have some form of insurance—home, car, travel, income protection, and more. Yet life insurance is often overlooked, especially by young and healthy individuals. The challenge lies in timing: at certain stages of life, life insurance feels unnecessary—until suddenly, it isn’t.

That shift often happens when someone becomes a parent. Moving from a dual-income household with no dependants to caring for a newborn introduces an entirely new level of financial responsibility. Life insurance transforms from an abstract concept into a form of protection that truly matters.

Familysurance was created to address this moment of change. Guided by user-centred and empathetic design principles, the core belief became clear: a parent should never have to worry about their child being left unprotected. The product and brand are built to support parents through this transition with clarity, inclusivity, and reassurance.

Familysurance represents a more progressive approach to life insurance—one that reflects the diversity of modern families. It fosters collaboration and community across all family structures, including same-sex parents, trans parents, single parents, and married couples, acknowledging the shared challenges parents have faced throughout generations.

As a mutually owned, non-profit, European-based life insurance company—by parents, for parents—Familysurance is driven by purpose rather than profit. Its mission is simple: to do good for as many parents as possible, by making life insurance more human, transparent, and accessible.
